EQUILIBRIUM

The two performances Body Bilder and Icon, as well as the installation Equilibrium, were created as part of my final thesis at the Bern University of the Arts.
Starting from an external view of the body (Body Bilder), the work developed in the process towards an internal body image. While in Icon I try to jump live into the projected familiar icon images, the video installation Equilibrium is a personal icon image, a wishful image of a transcendent, everlasting body in balance. The soundtrack of the installation creates the counterpart to the image, a dialog between two poles.

One way of dealing with inner tension is the ability to accept this cognitive dissonance. Negative Capability refers to the ability to accept that not every complex issue can be resolved.
